Today is all about dates, a powerful superfood full of glucose for brain, gut and even liver health!

Do you know why? Because dates are full of glucose, which is the #1 fuel for both your brain and your liver, in addition to being chock full of valuable minerals your body can assimilate right away.

They can even help protect against strokes and heart disease, and for those of us with digestive distress, dates are great at killing pathogens in our guts and supporting our tummy health.

So these sweet little gems should definitely be included on your journey towards radiant aging and will help you look and feel amazing regardless of your age!

A Superfood That’s SO High in Sugar?!

I know what you’re thinking, but just hang on, there’s no need to fear the glucose in dates, or in any other fruit for that matter.

The body treats glucose from fruits completely different than processed sugar, corn syrup and agave nectar, for example, which should all be avoided.

The glucose from fruit spends barely 3 minutes in your gut before going straight to power your brain and your liver, which is critical to healing and reducing all kinds of symptoms.

Superfood Snack Recipe

Today I’m sharing one of my favorite ways to enjoy dates, sprinkled over a bowl of fresh papaya, using the Raw Date Granola recipe found in Anthony Williams Life Changing Foods, book.

In there he also writes:

“As one of the most anti-parasitical foods on the planet, dates bind onto, destroy, and sweep away parasites; yeast, mold and other fungus; heavy metals; unproductive bacteria; viruses; and other poisonous pathogens from the gut. It makes them one of the most beneficial Candida killers known to humankind – despite the misinformation out there about dates feeding Candida.”

Wow, right?! In fact, eat 4 – 6 dates per day to reap their full healing benefits!

You could also use this “granola” to top any smoothie bowl or bowl of berries or chopped fruit. I even eat it plain for a quick snack or tucked inside celery sticks for a really tasty and supercharged pick me up snack!

Although I said ½ tsp salt in the video, it’s actually ¼ tsp and it is corrected in the recipe below. I usually make a double batch of the date granola as it keeps in the fridge in mason jars for a couple of weeks at least.

Keep a jar in your office or in the car and snack on it instead of other sugary, salty treats when you feel the urge and know you’re supporting your beautiful body that works so hard for you. ✨
